Before you find a local tradesperson
What to put in your request
A few details help the pro understand the job before they call. For example:
- What’s wrong, and when it started
- Your postcode, so they know where the job is
- Whether it’s urgent or can wait
- Any photos you can send when they get in touch
What happens next
We send your request to the one local pro listed for that trade and area. They then contact you to talk about the job and arrange a visit or a quote. If we don’t have a pro for your area yet, we’ll tell you.
Checks to make when the pro calls
- Public liability insurance.
- For gas work, registration on the Gas Safe Register.
- For notifiable electrical work, registration on the Electrical Competent Person Register.
- A clear quote before any work starts.
Prices and your details
Using Trusted Services is free. However, the tradesperson sets their own prices, so agree the price with them before the job. We only share your details with the one pro for your request, and we don’t use them for marketing. Our privacy policy has the full details.
